Hemorrhoids or something to worry about?

I had trouble going to the bathroom through out the day and I went a little tiny bit, but when I went at about 11pm, there was blood on my toilet paper. When I looked in the toilet there was nothing but pure, bright red blood. It startled me because I never hurt or anything. Im still really scared about it. My mom said they was hemorrhoids. Its now 12:38am and blood is still coming out of my anus. Not bad, but not a little bit either. Could someone please explain whats happening and when it will go away?
