I want to know how to get rid of an internal hemorrhoid.?

I am 17 years old and the hemorrhoid came after I had a large bowel movement in December. I didn't do anything about it until now. I'm trying to cure it with hemorrhoidal cream with aloe. It's helping with the itching and the bleeding, but not much with the swelling. It's not reducing the hemorrhoid. So, should I stop the use of using the cream altogether and let a doctor take a look at it and get it removed with surgery. Also, I'm scared of the fact to tell my parents because since it has to deal with the anus, they'll think that I've been having anal sex. Please help me?!?
