Perfect varnish/poly for my guitar?

If I were you I would use a clear Lacquer for your finish, as it is a strong finish and is resistant to sweat, water and outdoor weather. And also will protect your wood finish on your guitar. The finish that is or was on it most likely was a lacquer finish any way. That is what they usually use to finish electric guitars.
